ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the category of the community and sustainable community, the concept that is well-known in the Anglo-Saxon countries. The author has explored forms of cooperation of the community with the local authorities aimed at improving safety such as community policing. The author has elaborated how communities are evolving reaching the category of sustainable communities. The article concludes with a summary containing the final conclusions.
