The article presents the problem of security analysis through the lenses of
a non-homogeneous feminist theory. The analysis covers the basic dilemmas
and challenges in political science and security studies, which are highlighted by
feminism. Some issues of the feminist research have been discussed, which can be
used in the analysis of security issues, including the studies on political violence.
The main thesis of the article supports the assertion that security studies reiterate
a woman’s subordinate role thereby championing the male gaze, to use Laura
Mulvey’s term (1975).
