ABSTRACT
At the beginning of the year 2010 two meaningful events, concerning the
Constitutional issue, took place. The Law and Justice party (PiS) presented a draft
project of the constitution and the deputies of the Civic Platform (PO) put up
a draft project of changes in the RP constitution. One of the key issues included
in the (these) two projects (relates to the position of President) is the institution
of the RP President. Nevertheless, the proposed regulations express a divergent
(different) visions of the polish presidency. The Civic Platform’s project intends to
weaken the position of the head of state. A different direction of changes is visible
in the project of the Law and Justice, especially in two areas. The first of them is
the range of participation of the head of state in foreign relations. The second area
refers to the RP President’s powers in the legislative procedure.
