Processes of international political and economic integration and globalization
contribute to the emergence of new challenges with regard to the issue of
governance in the global space. There is an evolution of the traditional model of
governance and a transformation of the traditional political spectrum. Governance
is increasingly seen primarily in the terms of efficiency, which is measured by the
achieved effects of the projects implemented by the political authorities. Therefore,
there are the most important problems of transnational space as follows: bridging
the democratic deficit, the coordination of activities in the periods of economic
crises and the participation of citizens in decision-making processes.
