ABSTRACT
The article considers the limitations and merits of research strategies in
contemporary political science. The strategies are associated with the perception
of politics as an area of social life. The article claims that the perceptive status
of political science is and would be raised by general employment of the problem
strategy (integrative, ultra – and infradiscyplinary). The strategy is used in order
to explain particular research problems. This involves the use of general and
factual knowledge accumulated by particular social sciences as well as biological
ones. The application of this particular strategy leads to transformation of the
institutional shape of the discipline. One may predict establishing of small
universities – communities of researchers regularly employed in various research
institutes worldwide. They would be involved in the coherent and multi-angled
interpretation of complex phenomena of social life, such as multicultures, religious
fundamentalism or transformation of political system.
