The article discusses the problem of burden-sharing in NATO after 2014. It presents main theoretical concepts that explains mechanisms of creation of burden-sharing patterns within alliances, stressing difficulties with elaborating precise indicators for assessing costs and benefits of participation in the alliance. It discusses also actions of NATO members aimed at transformation of their model of burden-sharing in reaction to geostrategic changes initiated in 2014, showing differences in the level of engagement in such efforts among allies and consequences of that for NATO efficiency.
