The climate crisis and environmental problems are topics that arise today in
both the political and religious spheres. Effective action in this area, in order to counter
global problems, requires synchronization of the actions of both political and religious
communities. Christians generate more than half of the world’s GDP, although they account
for only 23 percent of the global population. Given this fact, it is impossible not to see
how significant the influence of Christians on the global economy and politics is. The research objective of this article is a systemic analysis of the interaction between politics
and religion, using the example of the faith community led by Pope Francis. The study
undertaken serves to verify the following hypothesis: the fusion of political and religious
activities contributes to the promotion of environmental and climate goals and the growth
of public awareness.
