ABSTRACT
The article addresses the issue of the dynamics of the political culture among
Internet users in Poland. Selected aspects of political culture revealed during
the elections campaign are compared to the observations made during the 2010
presidential election in Poland. The aim was to determine the similarities and
differences in opinions, assessments and behaviours of Polish Internet users. The
research results allow to conclude that Polish Internet users are more active not only
in the various areas of everyday life, but also are more interested in politics than
average of all citizens. The level of this interest is, however, frequently changing.
The article ends with the conclusion that the development of the Internet in
politics and the development of the political culture of Internet users will run, at
least for now, according to the scenario called technorealism. This means that people
active in various fields of social life, including in the sphere of politics, and at the
same time using the Internet will have bigger and better opportunities for both
the acquisition and creation of information and participation in politics. On the
other hand, people who are not very active will not want to use this opportunities.
