ABSTRACT
The article presents the model of adjustment of political preferences created by
Caprara and Zimbardo. It assumes that personal profiles of voters and politicians
become more and more important in the electoral process. Furthermore, voters
support politicians whose personality profiles resembles their own. The author’s
studies which confirm the above mentioned findings are quoted in the article.
The fact that people downplay the importance of political programs and tend to
concentrate on traits may favour their interest in politics.
