ANALYSIS OF THE POLICE RESPONSE PROCEDURES
IN CASE OF AN ACTIVE SHOOTER ATTACK, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT
THE PSYCHOLOGICAL IMAGE AND RISK FACTORS

This article is an attempt to characterize the phenomenon of active shooter, with emphasis on the state of preparation of the Police on this kind of threat. Based on the analysis of legal documents, reports of the exercises (with an active shooter scenario), it can be concluded that the level of preparedness of the polish police is comparable to the Norwegian police before the A. Breivik attack and knowledge to the level of knowledge of the US security services before the attack at Columbine High School.
