ABSTRACT
The author focuses on determining the
status of ethnic Russians and their role
in the state. He attempts to answer the
question to what extent the ‘Russia
for Russians’ slogan was present in
the doctrine of Russian nationalism,
from the 11th century to the present
day. The monograph is a significant
step in the recognition of national and
state-building processes in Russia. It
reveals, among others mechanisms of
durability, continuity, and change, as
well as dependencies and paradoxes in
national policy.
